Powerful Neighborhoods
The Powerful Neighborhoods program is a pilot program designed to reach customers who may not have taken advantage of Seattle City Light's conservation programs in the past. These customers include senior citizens, non-English-speaking households and low-income customers.
Working Green has partnered with Seattle City Light to schedule home visits, provide translations, and deliver and install energy efficient fixtures at no cost to customers in certain west and south seattle neighborhoods. The City of Seattle hopes to improve water and energy efficiency in 10,000 homes by the end of 2010, which would save about 25 million kilowatt-hours of electricity each year (about $40 per household).
